Situated half a mile from the old fishing village of Broughty Ferry and four miles east of Dundee, this is an ideal location for holiday makers, business stop overs and golf lovers. Broughty Ferry, which at the turn of the century was the richest square mile in Europe, has a fine array of restaurants, pubs and cafes which provide a friendly, warm and inviting atmosphere.
There are spacious streets filled with individual boutiques and unique shops to browse around. Visit Broughty Castle, now home to a fascinating museum detailing the area's past history. The fine seafront esplanade and sweeping sands provide the perfect place for a relaxing stroll or, for the more energetic, brisk walking and jogging!
Amongst the many attractions of a city, Dundee has an art gallery, contemporary arts centre, science centre, museums, Dundee Industrial Heritage, many theatres and the historic ships Discovery and Unicorn. Numerous golf courses include the championship courses of nearby Carnoustie and St. Andrews. There are many cycle paths in addition to the variety of coastal walks to explore. Roam the Angus Glens, hill walking in the Sidlaws or ramble through the many trails of Tentsmuir Forest. Follow the Tayside Antique Trail, visit Glamis Castle and National Trust properties such as Falkland Palace, House of Dun, Barrie's Birthplace in Kirriemuir, Hill of Tarvit and Kellie Castle. Relax by fishing on the Tay, bird watching or spend time shopping in the array of stores in Dundee. |
